Lamp Project

Hello! For our final project in 3D Design, we were assigned to make a working lamp. This could be interpreted a number of ways, and therefore was left open. In the end, everybody's lamps came out unique and really, really fun.

For my project, I chose to go with an organic shape.

A jellyfish!

I found a picture online of a bio-luminescent blue jellyfish that was really gorgeous, so I used that for inspiration.
I decided to make it similar to a paper lantern, so that it would be very flowing and delicate.

I also wanted to make it glow, rather than "light up", as you can see here:

The glow gives the lamp a feeling of calmness, you're underwater. The tentacles also flow freely. In all, I am proud of this project. I also had a lot of fun with it!

Materials: Handmade paper from Blick, wire, Christmas lights, glue
